Laem Thaen – A Peaceful Seaside Viewpoint in Chumphon, Thailand
Laem Thaen is a serene natural attraction located at the southern tip of Bo Mao Bay in Chumphon Province. During low tide, visitors can walk down a concrete staircase from the pavilion to a rocky beach below. From there, it’s possible to walk all the way out to the tip of the cape, enjoying the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks and observing small marine life like crabs and fish in the rock crevices.
The beach surrounding Laem Thaen features soft white sand and crystal-clear waters that gradually change from light blue to deep green. Shady pine trees line the shore, providing perfect spots to relax in private — whether you’re sunbathing, reading a book, sipping fresh coconut juice, or simply lying down and enjoying the ocean breeze. A short walk along the beach leads to rocky outcrops extending into the sea, where you can take in the view and listen to the peaceful sounds of nature.
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit Laem Thaen is during the cool and dry season, from November to April. This period offers clear skies, calm seas, and the most beautiful water colors. It’s recommended to avoid the rainy season (May to October), as heavy rainfall and strong sea winds may affect travel and visibility.
