The Thai Army Ordnance Museum showcases weaponry and military equipment throughout different historical periods. It narrates the history of the army, specifically the Ordnance Department, presenting a comprehensive collection of arms from the Ayutthaya era to the 9th reign of King Rama. The museum features thematic rooms such as the “Ayutthaya Era Weapons Room,” “Chulalongkorn’s Arsenal,” “Weapons of the Fourth Reign,” “Chulachomklao’s Defense Room,” and “Tiger Division’s Armory,” each highlighting significant historical events and weapons used during those times.
The museum also pays tribute to the military’s role in historical events, including the royal ceremonies and the establishment of the first Thai ammunition factory. It aims to educate visitors on the country’s military history and the evolution of weaponry.
Additionally, the museum provides a glimpse into the working environment of the Ordnance Department through a recreated workspace of the department head. It includes historical artifacts, emblematic symbols, and a display of the department’s achievements.
Visitors are encouraged to contact the museum in advance, especially for group visits exceeding 10 people. Entry is free, and guided tours with lecturers are available upon request. The museum is open on weekdays from 08:30 to 14:00, excluding public holidays.
